What is production-ready artwork?
Production-ready artwork is a finished design supplied at the size and quality needed for printing or cutting, without additional design work, cleanup, or reconstruction. Requirements differ for cut vinyl and printed materials.
Cut-ready artwork for vinyl decals & layered banners
Vector artwork is preferred for designs cut from solid-color vinyl. Vector files use paths rather than pixels, so the design can be scaled cleanly and the cutter can follow precise lines.
- Preferred formats: AI, EPS, SVG, or a vector PDF.
- Convert text to outlines and supply clean, closed paths.
- For single-color designs, supply solid black artwork on a white or transparent background.
- Avoid gradients, shadows, and photographic effects in artwork intended for solid-color cut vinyl.
- Small lettering, thin lines, and intricate details may need adjustment for cutting and weeding.
JPG and PNG files can be submitted for review, but may need vector conversion or reconstruction for an additional fee. Placing a JPG inside a PDF or SVG does not make it vector artwork. Vector paths do not depend on DPI.
Print-ready artwork for printed stickers & banners
We accept JPG, PNG, PSD, PDF, AI, and EPS files, provided the artwork meets the requirements for your project.
- For pixel-based images, aim for 300 PPI, commonly called 300 DPI, at the final print size. For example, a 3 × 3-inch image should be at least 900 × 900 pixels.
- Provide sharp, clear artwork with all required text and images included.
- Use PNG or PSD when a transparent background is needed. JPG does not support transparency.
- For large banners, send the original highest-resolution files and the intended banner dimensions so we can assess suitability.
Changing an image's DPI setting or enlarging it does not restore missing detail. Screenshots, social-media images, and AI-generated images may need cleanup or reconstruction.
If a finished banner image is not usable at the requested size, send the separate original images, exact wording, and a reference of the layout you want. Rebuilding that reference into a production-ready banner is an artwork service and may carry a reconstruction fee.
Examples of artwork services
Simple text circle stickers
Supply your exact wording and choose a standard font. One straightforward text layout is included. Special arrangements, multiple versions, or additional design work are quoted separately.
Converting a supplied design for layered cut vinyl
Simple conversion to vector paths and separation into vinyl layers starts at $15. Detailed tracing or rebuilding is quoted as reconstruction. Vinyl, cutting, weeding, and layering are part of the separate production price.
Recreating a supplied banner concept
Arranging usable supplied elements starts at $25. Recreating a full banner to match a reference typically starts at $45. Extensive cleanup, redrawing, or new design work is quoted individually.
Proofs & revisions
Artwork services include one initial digital proof and one round of minor revisions within the agreed scope. Included simple text layouts cover one proof and one minor text correction.
Additional revisions, new concepts, extra versions, or significant changes may require an additional quote. We will confirm extra charges before proceeding. Production begins after you approve the final proof.
Reorders
Artwork fees are one-time per approved design. We keep your approved artwork on file so you can reorder the same unchanged design without paying another artwork fee.
Changes to the artwork, size, layout, or production method may require additional preparation. We will confirm any additional charge before starting that work.
